Consider incorporating environmentally responsible items into your ceremony and reception. Use soy wax for your unity candle, toss bird seed instead of rice, and use recycled paper for programs, escort cards, and menus. You can plan the ceremony outside to save on energy costs during the event.
You can create a reception menu featuring fresh, local foods that are easier on the environment. Many caterers are willing to create delicious, organic meals that are healthy and prevent damage to your surroundings. There is a good chance you will have leftover food, so be sure you have a plan to distribute and store it properly. Consider asking a local charity whether the food donations will help them. Finally, leave your reception in a hybrid vehicle that saves on gas. This offers you a big finish to your big day without letting go of your green wedding plan.
