There are the inevitable spin-offs from the world of cinema; your child could have his or her bedroom embellished by Woody and Buzz, or perhaps Shrek. This expansive merchandising is a cash-boon for the film studios, the revenue derived from Toy Story 3 games, toys and franchise deals will far out strip profits made from the movie itself. Then of course there are the football team themed curtains, or perhaps favoured CBeebies programs, such as 'In The Night Garden.'

Although, in the end, it is not worth having a confrontation if your child insists on Sponge Bob curtains, see it as an important form self-expression that, thankfully, they will soon grow out of!
