The Secrets Of Tulum's Turtle Beach

Summer season is such a magical time of the year. I was lucky enough to vacation a few months inside the Cancun, Mexico vicinity this summer. It was in all honesty awe inspiring to be there. I spent nearly all of my time in a little jungle settlement referred to as Tulum. Tulum is situated inside the Riviera Maya roughly 90 miles south of Cancun and about 40 miles from Playa Del Carmen. It is a pretty easy cruise should you rent a car or van and take freeway 307 all the way. It's also possible to take a bus for a very affordable fee. A taxi ride would not even be excessively outrageous either, but by riding the bus or renting a van or car you'd definitely be saving funds. Without doubt, my most favorite thing about Tulum relates to the inhabitants. There are countless real people in Tulum, especially the area's Mayans and Mexicans who live there. An added majestic trait is the beaches. Tulum has a number of the most amazing seashores within the planet. You most likely didn't know that at least one of the Corona commercials with the the guy and the girl sitting on the chairs on the beach was filmed here. Yes, it really is as attractive as it appears on TV and yes, you ought to fly down for a vacation!

The first beach I went to immediately moved to the top of my best beach experiences list. I had never experienced anything like it, it was so immaculate and peaceful . My friends who are permanent residents down here call it "Turtle" beach, but the official name is "official beach name". It is only a 10 minute drive north of Tulum on highway 307. Not surprisingly they call it turtle beach because if you go at night in the early to mid summer you will actually have the opportunity to observe real life sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand. Of course, you must stay a safe distance away from the turtle, because you don't want to scare it. Also, this only happens at night and flashlights will scare the turtle so you have to hope for clear skies and a bright moon. If the circumstances are right, you may get to witness one of the more beautiful scenes you'll ever see in nature. One evening, I was lucky enough to see a live turtle laying eggs during my stay down here. It truly was a magical moment that all nature lovers should experience at least once.

If you go to Turtle Beach in the daytime, the first thing you'll notice is there are very few people at this beach. Rarely, if ever, do they have more than 50-100 people in a 3/4 mile stretch of beach. It is so peaceful because of this. The waves are very small and so you can go into the 75-80 degree water and just relax with a beverage or play with the kids without having waves constantly smacking you. I've been told the small waves have something to do with the Coral Reef, which is only about 50 feet out from the shore and extending out miles into the ocean.

During the day-time Turtle Beach is also an amazing place to visit. One of the first things you'll notice about it is the small number of people there. It's almost like having you own private beach for the afternoon. I've never seen more than 50-100 people there and that is a busy day and still doesn't seem like much over the 3/4 mile stretch of beach. The small number of people makes this almost like your own slice of paradise. The waves are very small and so you can go into the 75-80 degree water and just relax with a beverage or play with the kids without having waves constantly smacking you. By the time the typically large ocean waves meet up with the Coral Reef which extends miles from shore, the same waves are tiny or non-existent when they reach Turtle Beach. If you are a big fan of snorkeling or scuba diving you'll love this area. The Coral Reef pretty much makes it an ideal place for these activities. There are many professional diving tours at affordable rates offered in Tulum. When I finally get back to Tulum, I'm definitely not going to miss out on Scuba Diving again.

I hope that time is soon. The whole Yucatan is such a beautiful place, if you want to stay in Cancun or Playa del Carmen you'll have a great time too. There are many Playa del Carmen hotels and also Cancun hotels that can provide you with everything you're looking for. But with Tulum hotels, you may get a more personalized experience and you'll find the rates are usually more affordable. I highly recommend coming down to Tulum, Mexico. With plenty of amazing lodging accommodations, restaurants, resorts, and beach clubs, and more open spaces, you may find that Tulum is just the vacation you're looking for.
